About Proverbial

Provervial – A Journal on Proverb Translation in/from African Languages is an open-access peer-reviewed journal published twice a year by Interglossia Africana.

Proverbial welcomes high-quality and original manuscripts on the challenges and opportunities presented by proverbs and proverb use and proverb studies within the African setup.    Papers may cover, but not be limited to, the following issues:

• monolingual or bilingual proverb collections;

• proverbs in discourse;

• proverbs and literature;

• comparative studies of proverbs;

• translation of proverbs from/into African languages;

• proverbs and philosophy;

• proverbs and anthropology.
