Proverbial welcomes high-quality and original manuscripts on the challenges and opportunities presented by proverbs and proverb use and proverb studies within the African setup.    Papers may cover, but need not be limited to, the following issues:

• monolingual or bilingual proverb collections;

• proverbs in discourse;

• proverbs and literature;

• comparative studies of proverbs;

• translation of proverbs from/into African languages;

• proverbs and philosophy;

• proverbs and anthropology.
